Our research progress was developed mainly on novel organic molecules in terms of design, syntheses, characterization, and tuning their electronic and photophysical properties in various applications ranging from opto-electronics, photonics and chemosensor. Our group is actively involved in multiple areas of research:
(1) Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs) We have recently developed several new small molecules hole transporting materials (HTMs) and successfully applied for perovskite solar cells. Our systematic studies provided important insights into the correlation between the chemical structures of HTMs and the photovoltaic performance of the PSCs.
(2) Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) We have developed novel organic dyes for sensitized solar cells to achieve high conversion efficiency and to understand the relationship between the structures and photovoltaic performance of the DSSCs.
(3) Fluorescent probes for toxic chemicals We have been exposed to study the sensing properties for toxic chemicals such as cyanide anion and hydrazine based on the stilbene and pyridomethene–BF2 complex derivatives in term of color or fluorescence change. Our group has also studied some novel organic dyes and polymers for Organic-Light-Emitting (OLED) and Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFET) based on a new class of compounds. Additionally, I have also worked on the molecular brake based on the pentiptycene structure. and results are correlated with the computational studies. |
